Call 911

Call 9-1-1 to report any emergency, Police, Fire or Medical. If you need help immediately, don't waste time, call 9-1-1 as soon as you think help is needed.

When you call 9-1-1, there is a few seconds delay, PLEASE don't hang up and redial-Stay on the line. Even though it seems like a long time, it isn't. When you hang up and redial, you waste valuable time 

Please answer the dispatchers questions as calmly as you can, this information is needed to make sure the injured or sick party gets the best care possible.

Have an emergency contact sheet near your phone with your address (include easy directions if it's hard to find), and phone number.

Valley County 9-1-1 Dispatchers are NOT Emergency Medical Dispatchers, but we do need some information to pass on the the Ambulance personnel.



When to call 9-1-1 

Car Wreck

Someone is choking on their food

Someone is drowning

Someone is hurt and bleeding

Dangerous weather such as tornado, storms
When NOT to call 9-1-1 

Loud party or music

Barking dogs or cats up a tree

To report water/electricity out

To check for severe weather reports

Asking for another agencies phone number
